® The cylinders


 

Every CBX needs cylinder boring. This is because this engine's unusually high running temperature makes its cylinders wear more quickly than is true with other vintage Hondas. Here the cylinders are being machined in dedicated cylinder boring equipment. They will afterward be honed smooth using specialized high quality tooling. After that they are beveled, solvent then water washed, the gasket surfaces prepped, holes chamfered, and paint touched up.
